The next sparring session has been confirmed for a week on Saturday; 13th April.
The normal class will finish at 1:30pm and there'll be a short break before the sparring session, which will finish at 2:30pm. This is a free session to anyone training twice a week and £5 for those training once a week.
If any of you are interested in sparring but particularly nervous about it you're more than welcome to stick around and observe.
A huge congratulations is in order as our very own Mr Rose-Trespeuch was successful in grading to a 3rd (III) Degree Black Belt on March 31st. We are exceedingly proud of him here at Greenwich Taekwon-Do.
All of our competitors who attended the UKTA English Open 2019 won medals in at least one category.
In the 18-36 male green belt/blue tag category, Ryan Watts won a bronze medal for sparring; in the 18-36 female blue belt/red tag category, Danielle O'Sullivan won a silver medal in patterns and also a bronze medal for sparring; and in the 36+ all grades category, Martin Bowes won a silver in sparring.

Could those grading please ensure that the grading form (download here) is handed in or emailed over by this Saturday 16th March along with the grading fee. The grading fee is £25 and can be paid in cash or transferred over to the usual account.
On the 23rd the juniors class will be combined for 9:00am-10:00am and any adults grading are welcome to come and warmup then. The grading will take place 10:00am-1:00pm and the adults class will start one hour later than usual at 1:00pm.
The next sparring session has been confirmed for a week on Thursday; 14th March.
The normal class will finish at 21:00 and there'll be a short break before the sparring session, which will finish at 22:00. This is a free session to anyone training twice a week and £5 for those training once a week.
Apologies that the session couldn't be on a Saturday this month, there was limited availability of the hall and we are keen to get it in before the competition on the 17th.

Well done to our 3 competitors who attended the P.U.M.A International Open competition in Swindon this weekend. Congrats to Ryan Watts for winning a silver medal in sparring, to Martin Bowes for winning both bronze in patterns and gold in sparring as well as to Danielle O'Sullivan for putting up a great fight with two thirds of her sparring matches going to extra time!

The official ETA hoodies are now available for ordering. They are £30 each and come in three different colours red, black and grey. These can be worn to official events such as tournaments, seminars and competitions.
The available sizes are Small (S), Medium (M) or Large (L). If anyone is interested or wants more information on sizing, please let Mr Tran know before the order submission deadline on the 20th January.

Preliminary colour belt grading dates for this year are 23rd March, 22nd June, 21st September & 14th December.
Some upcoming competitions are the P.U.M.A International Open on the 16th February in Swindon, and the UKTA English Open on the 16th/17th March in Guilford.
Both are open to juniors and adults from 8th Kup and above. If you are a lower grade it is still well worth attending competitions to support the club and get used to them.

We have confirmed the next grading to be held on the 8th December 2018, at 10am. This will be overseen by Master Denis (VIII degree) and held at the usual training venue, St. Alfege's Church Hall.
We had 1 competitor, Martin Bowes, representing GTKD at the UKTA UK Open today in Guilford. We are pleased to announce that he managed to bring home a silver medal in the -80kg Veteran Sparring category!
This is a huge achievement as there were 314 competitors from 65 schools throughout the UK (including many international schools). We are extremely proud of this result. Congratulations once again to you Martin!
We had 4 competitors representing GTKD at the ITF England Championships this Sunday 28th October. We are pleased to announce that we managed to bring home 5 medals!
In the under 14 year-old coloured belts category, Florie Nalepa won bronze medals in both of her events, patterns and sparring and Caspar Nalepa did a fantastic job in patterns as well. In the 18-36 year-old coloured belts category, Ryan Watts won a bronze medal in his sparring event, we are very proud as he did very well going up both a weight class and grade category! Also in the 18-36 coloured belts category, Danielle O'Sullivan came back with two gold medals in patterns and sparring.
We are very proud of our competitors as they all performed extremely well!
The ITF England Championships 2018 will be held on Sunday 28th October at the Royal Masonic Girls' School, Rickmansworth, WD3 4HF. We wish good luck to the members who will be competing and representing Greenwich Taekwon-Do!
The date of the next grading has been confirmed for Saturday 8th December 2018. The exact time has yet to be confirmed, but it will most likely be around 10:00AM and held in the usual training venue - St. Alfege's Church Hall.
